Dominion Lending Centres Acquires Mortgage Architects

Jan 6, 2016

Dominion Lending Centres (DLC), Canada’s top mortgage company, is proud to announce its acquisition of Mortgage Architects, a leader in the Canadian mortgage space. DLC will keep all three of its brands (Dominion Lending Centres; Mortgage Centre Canada; Mortgage Architects) and run each of them alongside one another.

The DLC group of companies will now reach close to 40% market share, with a combined $32 billion in annual mortgage volume, translating to more than 100,000 individual mortgages per year.

With now over 4,800 accredited mortgage professionals in the three companies, this acquisition will make the Dominion Lending Centres group of companies the largest mortgage originator in all of Canada – ahead of all major banks.

“Dominion Lending Centres is thrilled to welcome Mortgage Architects and its team into the DLC family,” said Gary Mauris, President and CEO of Dominion Lending Centres. “Since its inception in 2005, Mortgage Architects has been a strong brand in the Canadian mortgage space. They’ve been very technology focused and developed some very comprehensive and powerful systems. We look forward to sharing our best practices with them, but also learning how we can better serve our clients and our accredited mortgage professionals.”

“On behalf of the team at Mortgage Architects, we are so excited to join the Dominion Lending Centres group,” said Albert Collu, President of Mortgage Architects. “DLC is an unquestionable leader in the Canadian mortgage space and I know that our network of accredited mortgage professionals will thrive working alongside DLC.”

“We are excited to welcome each of Mortgage Architects 1,287 mortgage professionals to the DLC group of companies,” added Mauris. “We can’t wait to get started.”

The process of the purchase was initiated approximately six months ago. Closing date of the transaction was December 31, 2015.
